A new accessory

Yes Anna has a new pair of glasses (they are actually a light pink, not as dark as the picture makes them look). Thanks to the law that makes is mandatory for all kindergarteners to go to the eye doctor, we found out that both Heidi and Anna have astigmatisms, and therefore blurry vision. Heidi's is worse, she has to see a contact specialist to help figure out a prescription that can help her, so her glasses are coming in a few days (it is so painful to wait when your sister has a great new pair to show off to everyone). We really had no idea they were having a hard time seeing, but they really haven't had to read detail things in the distance. They weren't able to see the blimp at our local airport, but we thought they were just being goofy, turns out they really couldn't see. I was a little skeptical going in, thinking that they are probably over-prescribing to get money. Justin and I are a little bummed because they means they will most likely always need glasses (or contacts, but not until age 10 or so). It is taking Anna a little bit to adjust, we just keep reiterating how careful she needs to be with them.
Emily also had her one year check-up today. Her weight has dropped a little, which frustrates me because she has been doing so well with purees and other solids (watermelon, strawberries, toast, etc.). She will be on pediasure for a little while, it is actually more caloric that formula (also more sugary--it is the second ingredient). Nothing changes as far as trying to get her to eat and drink as much by mouth first, then supplement thru the tube. She also got another round of shots, everything looked good otherwise.
