Weight gain

Emily had her 15 month check-up this week. She has gained a little over a pound in three weeks, the pediatrician was pleased, particularly with her weight to height ratio. The dietitian was also pleased, she wants me to continue what we have been doing for another three weeks and get another weight check. If she is continuing to gain weight then we can cut back and allow her more by mouth, but I think we will have the weight issue again in a month or two, because she just cannot make up the difference on her own. I am a little frustrated with her button, the surgeon had me change it again a few weeks ago, but it leaks and has caused some of the skin to break down again. It really should be getting tighter (and therefore not leak) on her because of the weight gain so I am not sure what is going on. The pediatrician also looked at her legs, because she walks so bow-legged, but thinks it is just the tibula (lower bone ?) that is twisted just slightly, a fairly common issue with toddlers.

Justin's work continues, rumor has it that the guy he is taking the place of right now is not coming back to this jobsite, so Justin is hoping to finish out the job, which should mean work for a good month or two. Supposedly the company has 40 people to lay off soon, so we will pray Justin is not one of them.

I cannot believe the holiday season is already here, such an exciting time of year, especially for the kids!

(The bones that are below the knee are the tibia and fibula. The bigger of the two is the tibia, which would be considered the "shin bone", the fibula is on the outside)
