Bits and pieces

The GI called this afternoon with some information. Emily's liver is not scarred, there appears to be no damage. The liver is doing it's job, bile is going thru and the ducts look good. The parts of the cells look normal. Basically what they know right now is that there is a LOT of fat in the liver, though he never used the term "fatty liver". He doesn't know why the fat is there, though he thinks it is somewhat related to the rapid weight gain of a few months ago. It still looks to be something metabolic, so they are doing a few urine tests. He sent away the other two samples of tissue for testing, and he is going to have his colleagues look over the biopsy results so far. So there is some good news in there, and still a lot of unanswered questions. Right now nothing changes until these other results come in (probably another 2 weeks or so).
