It sure felt good to sleep in our own beds last night, and to just take a deep breath after our trip. We are so thankful to God as our trip was smooth as butter. Our flights were on time and we caught all the right shuttles. The IV went in quickly and the glucose test was a success (there was trace amounts of blood in her urine that they are checking into). I learned how to mix the leptin and have given Emily two shots so far, without any troubles (she is upset that it hurts, but I get the job done and we move on). We were able to talk to several different doctors who are a part of the study, one of which is the leading expert in lipodystrophy in the US. They are all positive that the leptin will help heal the liver, lower the triglycerides, and reduce her insulin resistance. The nurse was tremendously helpful and spent plenty of time answering all our questions. And we are home safe and sound! The older kids were sick while we were gone but enjoyed their time doing all sorts of special activities. Justin and I stayed healthy, and Emily didn't get sick until Thursday when we were leaving. It is such a relief to have the trip behind us!!
On the work front: Justin's license to work came while we were gone, so he called up the first company that hired him. They have no work and actually have to lay some people off. The second company has a few months work in the southern part of the state. At this point we are willing to try anything, just so Justin can have some experience. So we will see what next week brings us!
